Let’s make it easier and more affordable to live in Chesterfield!

In 2025, HOME successfully helped mobilize Chesterfield residents to encourage Chesterfield County to pass new zoning laws that boost housing choice and affordability during the “ZOMod” (Zoning Ordinance MODernization) process. Now, we’re working on ensuring housing access in the County’s next phase, “PlanMod.” PlanMod focuses on addressing the feedback provided during ZOMod and creates Chesterfield’s long-range policy document that shapes how land in the county will develop over time.

Please attend to learn more! Be sure to ask how PlanMod will ensure fair and affordable housing for all residents and ask how we can make it easier to find land to build homes of all shapes and sizes for all types of households.

In fall 2026, there will be public hearings for the Planning Commission and the Board of Supervisors. The final decision is expected to be made in December. We will need your help to ensure housing choice and affordability are built into PlanMod. Stay tuned!
