Join us in Richmond on April 25 for a conversation with Senator Tim Kaine and HOME of VA’s executive director Thomas Okuda Fitzpatrick.

Learn about Senator Kaine’s early career as a fair housing attorney, including representing HOME of VA in a landmark housing justice case. And hear what we can do now to defend housing rights.

We may know him best today as the junior Senator representing Virginia. But for 17 years in Richmond, Tim Kaine represented clients fighting discrimination in housing. He served on the HOME of VA board, and represented us in a years-long suit over discrimination in housing insurance — then the largest verdict in a civil rights case in US history.

Today, the Senator and former candidate for Vice President represents Virginians in Washington. His broad agenda includes recently co-sponsoring legislation that would support first-generation homebuyers through down payment assistance.

We’ll ask Senator Kaine about his early days fighting for fair housing, and what it will take to finally make housing fair.

HOME of VA strives to host inclusive events. This program is wheelchair accessible.
