Housing Opportunities Made Equal of Virginia, Inc. is committed to the health and safety of our clients, community and staff; It is our number one priority.

Our management team has decided to take appropriate measures that will reduce risks associated with the transmission of COVID-19 by making changes to how we deliver services to you, our valued community.

Effective immediately, all Eviction Diversion group education classes are suspended.

Currently, we are working on setting up a video class instead of having in-person classes, stay tuned.

Housing Stability Program Overview

The program aims to divert evictions though financial literacy education. By focusing on spending management, financial goal setting, protecting personal property, smart budgeting, and sustainable money management techniques, we empower tenants to minimize or avoid the impact housing instability can have on a household. We provide both group education, and individual counseling to improve personal credit, manage debt, boost earning capability, and develop a personalized plan for building wealth and assets. In addition, we will help our participants identify supportive services that can aid in financial sufficiency and help maintain housing stability.

The program aims to:
  • Build financial confidence.
  • Teach sustainable financial decision-making.
  • Promote mindful money management.
