Brian is the Director of Research and Policy. He holds a master’s degree in urban and regional planning from Virginia Commonwealth University. Brian routinely conducts research on a variety of fair housing related topics including access to opportunity, housing affordability, mortgage lending, and foreclosures in addition to consulting on Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice projects. His work on the impacts of historical discriminatory housing policy has been featured in the Washington Post and displayed at the Library of Virginia. He frequently lectures at local universities as well as fair housing conferences
Brian has testified before the Virginia General Assembly on proposed Fair Housing legislation, is a frequent speaker at the Virginia Governor’s Housing Conference, and most recently, was a panelist at the National Fair Housing Alliance annual conference In-Service Training program on Affirmatively Furthering Fair Housing. Brian is on the Board of Directors of the Greater Richmond Continuum of Care.
